A significant weather shift is expected across the United States, with nearly 300 million people forecasted to experience above-average high temperatures by Thursday. Earlier in the week, much of the country, particularly areas east of the Mississippi River, is experiencing temperatures 10 to 25 degrees below average.

The warmth currently present in the Southwest is projected to expand eastward, leading to a gradual warm-up through Friday. This transition may result in potential record highs and record warm lows in several regions, especially in the Northeast and the West.
