U.S. forces have recently seized a Venezuelan oil tanker and targeted vessels accused of transporting illegal drugs to the United States, with Washington blaming President Nicolas Maduro and his associates for these activities.

President Maduro has denied all allegations, calling them baseless and rejecting foreign pressure. Meanwhile, opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, speaking after receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, stated that Maduro's regime is nearing its end. With U.S. naval deployments in the Caribbean and Venezuelan military drills underway, the risk of direct conflict appears to be increasing.

She spoke to media in Oslo, where she received this year's Nobel Peace Prize. What I can tell you is that Maduro's regime is in its final days. It will come to an end with or without negotiations. It's in Maduro's best interest for it to be through negotiations. At this point, he must be very clear about that. And there are probably actors who do not want him to do so or will not let him do so. With America deploying naval forces throughout the Caribbean Sea and Venezuela conducting military drills, both countries increasingly appear to be heading towards conflict.
