I mean, I love coffee. It gets me through the day. I'm a teacher, so it really helps me get through the day. You know, I can't get through my day without it. The National Coffee Association says 2 3rds of American adults drink coffee every day, more than any other beverage. Every American coffee drinker consumes, on average, three cups per day. And I think it gives us energy. It also brings us together as people. You know, we gather around, we have a cup of coffee, we talk, have conversations, we have first dates, we have business meetings, we have interviews. So I think coffee kind of surrounds our culture with just a lot of togetherness and community. As more and more people rely on coffee to get their day going, the price is going up. The Bureau of Labor Statistics says last month, coffee prices jumped 20% from the year before. More competition, inflation, and consumer shifts have hurt Starbucks' bottom line, forcing the company to close 1% of its stores in North America this month. We're in a kind of resurgence of Starbucks kind of getting back to coffee, getting back to what we do best, which is, you know, make delicious coffee and take care of our customers.
