The situation escalated as supporters fainted and Vijay was seen calling for police assistance. This incident follows previous safety concerns at Vijay's rallies, with at least six deaths reported at an earlier event. Both Vijay and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed condolences to the victims' families.

Vijay has drawn massive crowds to his public meetings since launching his political party in 2024. This is not the first time Vijay's rallies have faced safety concerns. At least six deaths were reported following the first meeting of his political party in October. Both Vijay and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed their condolences Saturday on X.
