In response to Trump’s remarks, Blumenthal stated that he has addressed the issue in the past and noted that Connecticut voters have elected him three times since the controversy. The incident highlights ongoing political tensions and the resurfacing of past allegations in current debates.

And President Trump is calling for an investigation now into Senator Blumenthal following that clash. We just saw with Bondi Trump, referencing the old allegation that the AG brought up during the hearing that the Connecticut Senator lied about his military service. Now that goes back to 2010 when Blumenthal admitted his Marines Reserve Service was in Washington during the Vietnam War. In response to Trump's comment, Blumenthal said he has long since cleared the matter up, and he pointed out voters in Connecticut have elected him three times since then.
