Authorities have now entered a third day of searching for missing four-year-old boy, Gus, who disappeared from a remote homestead in South Australia.

Police, emergency services, and local residents have been searching the harsh terrain using helicopters with infrared technology, ATVs, police divers, and officers on horseback. 

Gus disappeared while visiting his grandparents' homestead with his mother and younger sister. Authorities report there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his disappearance. The family is being kept informed as the search continues, with police stating they will persist in their efforts until Gus is found.

Well, the desperate search to find young Gus is well into the third day and despite an enormous team of people scouring this remote land, there's still no sign of the missing four-year-old. Police and emergency services and locals from nearby stations have been trawling through scrub and paddocks as they navigate the harsh terrain. A helicopter is using infrared technology to scan from above, while ATVs cover areas not accessible by foot. A specialist team of police divers has also arrived from Adelaide to search the dams and water tanks around the property, while officers on horseback have also been called upon. Gus vanished on Saturday evening. He was visiting his grandparents' homestead here south of Vienta in the state's mid-north, more than 300km from Adelaide. Police say he was with his mother and younger sister playing alone when he suddenly went missing. Investigators say there is no suggestion of suspicious circumstances and the distraught family is being continually updated on the search effort. Now as the hours turn into days, there are growing fears for his safety. Every moment that ticks away, we are concerned that we haven't found him, but we're sort of very optimistic that we're still searching in the search area. Now police say they'll continue searching for Gus as long as it takes as they still hold out hope that he's found safe and well.
