Police in Henderson, Nevada, responded to an attempted kidnapping outside an apartment complex near Warm Springs and Center Street. As officers arrived, the woman escaped, but the suspect drove his vehicle toward police, prompting officers to open fire. 

The suspect, who was known to the victim, was struck by gunfire and later found at a home in Las Vegas, where he was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities confirmed that no officers were injured, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Well, this apartment complex right behind me is where police say a kidnapping suspect tried to force a woman into his car. Investigators say that suspect will then drive towards officers prompting police to shoot. It's just crazy. Like it's right here. It happened right here. A chaotic scene in this Henderson neighborhood sunday morning. I've heard nothing like that over here. Henderson Police Captain Haven Tillman tells me a man was trying to kidnap a woman outside this apartment complex near Warm Springs in center street sunday morning. They received information that a male was trying to kidnap a female and place her into a vehicle. Tillman says as officers arrived to the scene, the woman was able to escape. He says officers then ordered the suspect to surrender, but he instead got into his car and drove towards officers and drove his vehicle towards officers, which resulted in an officer involved shooting. The suspect was struck and he then fled the scene. The suspect will later be found at a home in Las Vegas. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition. No officers were injured during the incident. Yeah. So if they stopped it and he was doing that, that's that's good because it's too much kidnapping be going on with little kids and older people and just a lot of stuff around the holidays. Well, people don't need Alexis peoples was visiting her brother at the complex. She wasn't there when the police shooting happened. She says he heard it all. He heard gunshots when he left and he didn't know what was happening. I guess somebody called him and told him somebody, uh, baby, they told him it was a baby daddy. They was getting into it. He thought it was a domestic violence. Did the suspect know the victim at this time? Yes. And though Captain Tillman couldn't say if there was a history of domestic violence between the suspect and the victim, he did share this message with the community. And I just want to say to the public, if you are experiencing any domestic violence issues, especially with the holidays around, please, if you can leave, leave. If you can call 911, please call. There's a ton of resources that we can offer you. Again, no officers were injured during this incident, but we are working to get more details about what exactly happened out here.
