The blockade has not only physically split families but also contributed to significant psychological strain and uncertainty for those living under ongoing conflict.

Some in the north and center, others in the south, with no way of getting back to each other. For Om Nidal, displacement has left her family scattered. Some of her children made it south, others remain here. We know those who evacuated south cannot go back to Gaza City. People are fleeing the horror of the Israeli attacks. The moment I heard about the Israeli military decision to close Al Rashid Road, I could not believe it. I was hysterical as I kept thinking about the rest of my own family in Gaza, their safety and livelihood. The tent she recently set up cannot accommodate everyone, even if they were reunited. When we first arrived here, I was shocked and was asking myself, how are we going to stay here? Is this place enough for us, my sons and daughters and their families? This tent cost me $900 to buy. This is too much. I had to borrow money to afford it. With phone and internet signal jammed, the psychological toll is heavy. Parents live with constant fear, children ask questions without answers, and families are left waiting in the dark. Mohsen's family is facing the same separation. His sister and her children are in the north while he stays in an overcrowded tent site in Deir el-Balah city. Like many, he struggles with silence caused by the communication blackout. We are under immense psychological pressure. This morning my nephew called and told me that Al Rashid Road will be closed very soon. What should we do? I told him you must leave immediately. The Israeli occupation army will kill everyone who remains in Gaza City. There is a telecommunication signal jamming and it takes up to five tries to get hold of him. For Gaza, this place, the closure of the coastal road is not just a barrier. It has torn families apart, left shelters overcrowded, and silenced communication, turning survival into a daily struggle under fear and uncertainty.
