CBS's Deborah Pata is in East Jerusalem with the latest. Gaza continues to burn as Hamas weighs up its response to the US peace proposal. And the Israeli military presses on with its offensive, launching strikes across the territory. Including this school in Gaza City, where displaced Palestinians had sought shelter. The injured were treated at one of the last remaining hospitals where local medical staff are battling it out on their own. There are no international humanitarian organizations left in Gaza City after Doctors Without Borders and the Red Cross suspended operations there, saying it's simply too dangerous. Also on the move, thousands of Palestinians fleeing the violence in Gaza City, heading south after Israel closed off all access to the north today. Every day, we thought maybe there'd be a solution, said Mohammed Baka. But finally, we had to leave. It's a perilous route. War is all around them. Hospitals are overwhelmed. It's like a conveyor belt of death and injury. Emergency doctor Paul Ransom said they are buckling under the strain. We need more hospitals. But more than that, we need the shelling to stop. We need the bombing to stop. And across Gaza, we are hearing the same cry repeated over and over again. Make a deal. End the war. A source close to the process told CBS News the Hamas negotiating team has met with officials from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey in Doha, where Hamas said it is carefully reviewing the US proposal before preparing its final response.
