Donald Trump made his case to hundreds of the most powerful American generals and admirals summoned for a rare in-person gathering. It's the enemy from within and we have to handle it before it gets out of control. It won't get out of control. National Guard troops have been deployed to several Democrat-run cities, including Los Angeles, this summer. Trump would like to add more locations to his list. In our inner cities, which we're going to be talking about, because it's a big part of war now, it's a big part of war. These new threats come along with new promises of more power for some soldiers and leaders. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement. Just common sense, maximum lethality and authority for warfighters. Other changes announced include killing whistleblower programs to report abuse and toxic behavior. And women seeking combat roles will now have to meet the highest male standards. If that means no women qualify for some combat jobs, so be it. All of it part of the broader effort to reshape American military culture. No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses. No more climate change worship. No more debris. We are done with that shit. There is growing concern among some experts about several of the proposed changes in combination with Trump's threats. There are some big parts of the administration that are trying very hard to move in an authoritarian direction. Amid this alarm, Trump's speech stood out. He spoke for more than an hour, rambling at times. During the sleepy Joe Biden era. He aired his grievances, attacked his opponents and made a bizarre reference to a racial slur while talking about nuclear war. I call it the n-word. There are two n-words and you can't use either of them. And he re-upped his familiar threat to annex Canada. Well, why don't you just join our country, become 51, become the 51st state. Trump's delivery aside, the message to military members who disagree with these plans or the changes, they're being encouraged to resign. And Katie, it seems in terms of sending in the National Guard that Donald Trump has more cities in mind. Yeah, San Francisco, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles again.
