In California's East Bay Area, the Meals on Wheels program has ended some home deliveries due to a lack of federal funding, impacting services like their breakfast bag program. Additionally, some popular attractions in the Bay Area are now closed, and air shows in Southern and Northern California have canceled Blue Angels performances.

In Washington, D.C., the shutdown has halted the issuance of marriage certificates and wedding ceremonies, and the National Flood Insurance Program is unable to issue new policies, potentially complicating home sales. Despite these disruptions, mail delivery and post office operations remain unaffected and continue as usual.

We are on day two of the government shutdown and while all eyes are on places like airports and social security offices, Americans are learning all kinds of new areas are also being affected. CBS News correspondent Chanel Call has been monitoring these updates. And Chanel, what are we looking at when it comes to day two of the shutdown? Well Mooka, good to see you. Good morning. The government shutdown is seeming to have sort of a ripple effect across the country in so many different ways. Let's start in California for example. The East Bay Area Meals on Wheels is ending some home deliveries there because they say the program is now starved for funding. Take a look. Federal government cuts, they're passed down to the state Mugo, then to the county, and then to programs like this Meals on Wheels. They actually, by the way, are the only group in this Bay Area to have a breakfast bag is what they call it. This breakfast bag program delivers five to seven days worth of morning edibles each week. That will now end Mugo. Also happening in the Bay Area, some visitors are finding out that popular attractions, they are now off limits due to a lapse in funding. We heard the National Park Service says it intends to keep parks already accessible to the public open during this shutdown, while closing those that are not already open, which of course means some tourists may be turned away. We're also Mugo seeing an impact in the skies. Air shows in SoCal and NoCal will no longer feature the Blue Angels. They've now been grounded. By the way, those performances have been canceled. Also, we're following what's happening in Washington, D. C. Weddings and home sales there could be affected. And here's how the court system Mugo said it will not issue marriage certificates or perform wedding ceremonies during the shutdown. And the National Flood Insurance Program says it cannot issue any new policies right now. And what that means is it could essentially complicate closing home sales. Now, if you're wondering about mail service, if you've ordered some things online, wondering if it'll get here, some good news. Their mail will still be delivered. Post offices will still remain open during the shutdown.
