Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for additional sanctions on Moscow, warning that Russian threats are expanding across Europe. The EU is planning to spend over $380 billion on its military this year, with a renewed focus on air defence systems, drones, and long-range missiles. The bloc views Russia as the continent's primary security threat and is taking steps to strengthen its collective defence capabilities.

We have to make our common Europe so strong that war against us becomes unthinkable. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the Europeans to impose more sanctions on Moscow and warned Russian threats are expanding across Europe. If the Russians dare to launch drones against Poland or violate the airspace of northern European countries, it means this can happen anywhere. In Western Europe, in the south, we need fast and effective response. European leaders see Russia as the biggest threat to the continent. Countries now are increasing their military spending, pledging billions of dollars for a drone wall and defense shield. There are two key projects aimed at shielding Europe against possible attacks by Russian drone, missile and fighter jets. We must keep up this pressure on Putin. The economic pressure is having an effect and we need to continue that pressure through further sanctions, bearing down on energy in particular and on the shadow fleets. French President Emmanuel Macron was a driving force behind the European political community established right after Russia invaded Ukraine. Air defense systems, drones, I mean the level of innovation and efficiency of the drone system is very impressive and this is one of the best way to change precisely the situation and gain some territories, recover some territories. And third, long-range missiles. This is Moldova's President Maya Sandov. She won an election largely marked by Russian interference, according to the EU. Russia's win is widely seen here as a sign European ideals of democracy have healthy support and will prevail. The EU is planning to spend more than $380 billion on its military forces this year. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has led to a rethink of European defense strategy, with the bloc saying that if it doesn't ramp up its military capabilities, Russia may be tempted to invade more territory in the future.
