A woman identified as Stephanie Munoz died after being struck by a speeding SUV while walking her dog in Newark, Essex County. The incident occurred as she was crossing Clifton Avenue, a 25-mile-per-hour no-passing zone. 

Witnesses reported that the driver was speeding on the opposite side of the road. Police stated that the driver remained at the scene and did not appear to be under the influence. Authorities have not yet determined if the driver will face charges.
