Triple-digit temperatures and dry conditions are making it very difficult for firefighters. Fire crews in California's wine country are struggling to slow the spread of the fast-moving Pickett wildfire near Napa. More than 1,200 firefighters are attacking flames from the air and on the ground. The fire has grown to about 7,000 acres since it began Thursday, with many under new evacuation warnings. Just necessities for a few days. We're kinda tired of this. State fire officials say the wildfire is moving out of the hills and dangerously close to vineyards, worrying winemakers like Banyan Kirkendall. It's the smoke on the grapes. The quicker they can get this thing out and the smoke can leave, we can make good wine again. Lightning sparked several small fires in Southern California that crews quickly got under control. Hurricane Aaron is delivering flooding to the Carolinas as it moves further away from the East Coast. Powerful storms dumped more than 10 inches of rain in Charleston, South Carolina, closing roads and damaging businesses. In my 35 years of life, this is the worst flooding I've ever seen. With high temperatures and dry conditions, fire officials say this relentless wildfire activity could last at least through September.
