The Weather Channel has provided an early outlook on which regions in the United States are most likely to experience a white Christmas. Higher elevations in the Rockies, as well as parts of the Northern Plains, Great Lakes, and Interior Northeast, currently have the best chances for snow on December 25.

Surrounding areas in the West, a strip of the Midwest, and the Appalachians may also see snow, though the likelihood is lower. For most other regions, snow is not expected, but forecasts may change as the holiday approaches.

Who could see a White Christmas?

Dreaming of a white Christmas? Well, it's finally time to start looking at who might actually see one this year. Surprise surprise, the higher elevations in the Rockies, as well as parts of the Northern Plains, Great Lakes, and Interior Northeast have the best chance at seeing snow on the big day. And in surrounding areas out west, plus a strip of the Midwest and down through the Appalachians, you could possibly see a white Christmas too. For the rest of you, it's not looking likely, but keep checking back every day this week because Mother Nature still has plenty of time to change her mind.
