The technology uses advanced sensors to detect unusual activity on the road. 

While some city officials have expressed confidence in the safety protocols of Waymo vehicles, there have been reports of the cars stalling, interfering with police checkpoints, and being involved in collisions. There is no confirmed timeline for when the vehicles will operate without drivers or expand further in the region.

Still, though, city council members say they feel safe in Waymo vehicles. They are feeling faithful in their safety protocols.
