At a press conference less than an hour ago, the police chief says three of them were killed. It happened around 2 p.m. local time, and CBS's Anna Schecter has been tracking this story and joins me now. So, how did this happen? Well, the five police officers were executing a search warrant. This was an individual known to them, so they were following up on something that they heard about, maybe a domestic incident the day before, so they were returning there, and as they approached the structure, this gunman exited, shot all of them, killing three of them, and then police shot him. And Governor Shapiro actually spoke at this press conference, and let's listen to what he has to say. This kind of violence isn't okay. We need to do better as a society. We need to help the people who think that picking up a gun, picking up a weapon is the answer, so we don't have to deal with tragedies like this. And so, this shooting actually comes amidst a spate of shootings against police officers. More than 1,000 police officers have been shot in the last few years. Our team has been tracking this troubling trend, and the FBI is so worried about it, they've been studying why it continues to happen.
