But Trump's message after the strike? He advised the Qataris to work on their public image. I said you need better public relations, because you don't really get the public relations. The secretary's visit to Israel reinforces long-held American policy, that its support is paramount, in spite of the recent full-scale offensive on Gaza City that has sent a fresh wave of Palestinians fleeing for their lives. Then, in what appears to have been a last-minute decision, the secretary flew to Qatar from Israel for some deaf diplomacy. In spite of that Israeli attack, America is very keen for the kingdom to remain onside not only as an ally, but also as a key partner in trying to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
