Security Council Resolution 2334, adopted in 2016, demands an end to Israeli settlement activity and violence, but diplomats, including Algeria's ambassador, criticized the Council for failing to ensure implementation of its own resolutions. The lack of follow-up has allowed impunity to persist, according to statements made during the session.

We reiterate our firm opposition to any form of annexation and to the government of Israel's settlement policies that violate international law.
