Nancy, good morning to you. What do you make of the president's comments? Good morning, Tony. Yeah, in the Oval Office yesterday, President Trump seemed to be saying that it depends, that some federal workers will get back pay and some won't. But I have to say, that really seemed mostly to be an attempt to ratchet up the pressure on Democrats because Congress actually passed a law after the last shutdown in 2019 that said all federal workers, whether they're essential workers or furloughed workers, they're all going to get back pay once a shutdown is over. And congressional leaders from both sides said yesterday that's exactly what they want to see happen this time around. And at the end of the day, important to note, Tony, that it's Congress that makes these appropriations decisions, not the president. Well, Nancy, speaking of the end of the day, we're now eight days into the shutdown. Any signs that the two sides could reach a resolution soon? Well, no serious signs, unfortunately, of any kind of negotiation, not between Democrats and Republicans on the Hill or between Democrats and the White House. Democrats are still holding out for the renewal of Obamacare premium subsidies before they will vote to fund the government. They also want some cuts to Medicaid rolled back. And President Trump, though he has been threatening to carry out these mass layoffs of federal workers if Democrats don't back down, his timeline keeps shifting. He's now saying that we'll learn more about his plans in four or five days. Nancy, thank you.
