Trump is ratcheting up the pressure on Venezuela. Foreign relations expert Oliver Stunkel thinks the ultimate goal is regime change. I think there is a risk that the United States will inadvertently be pulled into a conflict without a clear exit strategy. For months, the Trump administration has built up its military might in the Caribbean. Last week, the U.S. seized a sanctioned 20-year-old oil tanker after it left port in Venezuela, and has carried out at least 25 deadly strikes on alleged drug boats in the region. Their policies in the Caribbean are unclear. We don't know what the limits are. We don't know where they'll stop. We don't know what the ultimate goal is.
