Congressman Riley Moore of West Virginia expressed support for the move, highlighting the severe impact of fentanyl overdoses in his state and attributing the crisis in part to precursor chemicals from China. 

The discussion also addressed ongoing debates in Congress regarding the extension of health care subsidies, with Moore emphasizing Republican efforts to lower health care costs for all Americans. Additionally, Moore shared insights from his recent trip to Nigeria, where he investigated Christian persecution and reported on violence against Christian communities.

Let's welcome in Congressman Riley Moore of West Virginia. Congressman, great to be with you again. I want to start off with this, we just heard that report from John, the president, signing an executive order designating fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction. I know Governor Patrick Morrissey says that this move was long overdue as West Virginia has really been on the front lines of this fentanyl epidemic. What does this mean to you, this order by the president, and what do you think it means to your constituents? Well, Tracy, first, I want to thank President Trump for taking this necessary action and it has been a weapon of mass destruction for the state of West Virginia. Just speaking personally, I have a lot of friends that have lost family members, people I know, community members, my constituents who have died from fentanyl overdoses in West Virginia. It's been a scourge on our state, as you've just heard here before me, the precursor chemicals for this comes from China. I believe this is intentional, what's happening. They're trying to poison Americans and it has been weaponized against us and I think the president took the exact correct step here. Thank God for President Trump for him doing this. Yeah, and we heard just a moment ago, Senator Lindsey Graham was speaking, talking about the situation in Venezuela. Of course, we know the strikes on drug boats, they're bringing that into our country. I want to also talk about what else is happening in Capitol Hill where lawmakers are racing against the clock to come to a solution on health care subsidies set to expire at the end of this month. I know it comes after the Senate rejected those competing proposals from both sides of the aisle last week. Republicans expect to hold another vote this week and the party could come out divided. Do you think that they are going to get this done before the holiday? You know, I think that remains to be seen. We're certainly going to have a vote on it here. We're going to see what happens, but I want to make clear what we're trying to do here as the Republicans. What we're trying to do is lower health care costs for everybody, not just the folks who are on Obamacare subsidies and extending those COVID era subsidies, right? You have the 2014 subsidies, the COVID subsidies, even if those are voted for and extended. Let's say we did that. It's not going to lower everybody else's premiums. So what we're trying to do is make sure health care is affordable for everybody in this country. That is what we're trying to do here, not just some subset, you know, 1.6 million people that are being covered by these COVID era subsidies. We're trying to lower health care costs for everybody. So that's the approach that we're taking to this. And I just want people to put in their mind, like separate these two things is that voting for Obamacare COVID subsidies, the Unaffordable Care Act does not mean that your premiums are going to go down. And the Democrats and the legacy media, unfortunately, have intermingled these two things. So many people are thinking right now, if you vote for this, then my health care costs goes down in terms of the Unaffordable Care Act. That is not the case at all. But that's what we're trying to address here right now. Yeah, Cosby, before I let you go, we have a little less than a minute left. But you and I have talked about Christian persecution in Nigeria before. And I know you recently went to a very transformative trip over there, meeting with dozens of Christians who were driven from their homes, victims of just horrific violence over there. And now they're living in camps. Can you talk to us a little bit more about that? What you experience, who you talk to and what they're saying right now? Well, they are very grateful for President Trump's focus on this. And obviously, President Trump tapped me publicly to go and investigate this and look at this. And we have been compiling a report that we're going to present to President Trump here soon on recommendations on how to move forward on this. But let me just make something very clear. Our brothers and sisters in Christ are losing their lives in Nigeria due to the profession of their faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They are being murdered, slaughtered, martyred. Every day in Nigeria, we went to Benue State, met with these internally displaced people who are living in refugee camps. I met a woman who had all five of her children murdered in front of her. These Christians are being persecuted by Islamic terrorists that have put forward a genocidal campaign to move them off of their ancestral homeland. And we do have to stand up for our Christians. We have to stand up for them. We are a Christian nation. And this is what's right, and I think it's what's just. It absolutely is. Thank you for doing all that you're doing to bring this to light.
