Former President Donald Trump has advocated for deregulation as a means to reinforce the United States' position in the global artificial intelligence sector. His remarks highlighted a nationalistic approach, calling for patriotism and the establishment of U.S. standards in AI development. The strategy aims not only to keep China reliant on American AI technology but to assert U.S. dominance in the field.

The administration's plan includes making it easier and faster for technology companies to build data centers, which are essential for AI infrastructure. This deregulation effort is expected to have significant market implications as the U.S. seeks to lock other countries, including China, into its AI ecosystem.

And Marty I know this is really about deregulation and really trying to supercharge AI leadership that the U.S. has at the moment and a lot of nationalistic characters to this speech. I thought it was interesting because he talked about nationalism in Silicon Valley and beyond Silicon Valley. He also talked about AI race will demand patriotism. So really nationalizing this whole A.I. story for the for America. And I thought you know this is obviously given the geopolitical complexities and the significance of artificial intelligence in 2025. Yeah. Certainly it seems to narrow the divide right between Washington D.C. and Silicon Valley. Right. Sherry. But I think the key point here and the way I'd like to think about it from what we know so far from the speech and there's likely going to be laid out even further in a podcast by by Trump's A.I. czar Mr. Sachs probably in his all in podcast which happens could be happening right now if I'm not mistaken. The way I like to think of it is the strategy of change is no longer deny its dominate. Right. I think they're trying to take the game to China. This is something we've talked about with guests and between ourselves as well trying to figure out. Well hold on. You know three months after seeing H.H. 20 ships can't go into China. Trump decides you know for the sake of rare earths getting Chinese rare earths. OK. They can go back in. By the way we'll also let a chip design software go back into China as well. We were scratching our heads going what what what is going on here. Right. And one take was that I remember I think we're talking to Dan Niles. The thinking had been maybe what America is trying to do is to basically keep China addicted to the U.S. A.I. stack. Keep them dependent. Right. But I think it's pretty clear now that it goes far beyond that. It's not just keeping them dependent and addicted. It's basically trying to dominate. It's taking the game to them. It's no longer deny it is now dominated. That's the way I'm thinking about it. Yeah. It's really the U.S. are trying to set standards at this point really lock in a lot of these countries including China in their A.I. ecosystem. And then I think going forward this is going to be largely a power story because a lot of mentions about the data centers and the power of these data centers will need here. So they will. They're saying this administration is saying that they're going to make it easier faster for tech companies to build data centers. And of course the deregulation is a big layer in all this.
