According to the National Retail Federation, families are expected to spend an average of $858 on back-to-school items, a slight decrease from the previous year's $874. Retailers have managed to keep prices steady so far, with some, like Walmart, lowering prices on key school staples. However, there is concern that new tariffs could impact prices in the near future.

Walmart operations manager Dulce Tovar says prices are lower on 14 back-to-school staples this year like pencils, scissors, and glue sticks. Maybe the kid wanted the extra shoes especially for those fashionistas out there. They're able to buy the sneaker and the sandal as opposed to just one pair. Popular items this year. I was looking at that thinking is this a shoe? What is this? So this is a I think it's similar to the Crocs right? But it's a shoe pencil pouch. Wait what? It's a it's a little kit. It's the sandwich? This is for your fruit. Oh wow. I am seeing I'm seeing things I didn't know that I needed that I now need. Supplies aren't on there. Some kids came prepared with lists. I need a water bottle. And if only every kid could be this easy to shop for. I'm fine with sticking to a budget.
