The accused was arrested in Padstow and has been granted bail under strict conditions, while another suspect remains at large.

Well, Sandra, this is a 16-year-old boy we're talking about but we can't identify him due to his age. Now, he fronted the Children's Court here in Parramatta late this afternoon. Police are alleging that on Monday afternoon he approached a stranger, a 66-year-old man on board a train that was about to stop at the town hall station. They say he allegedly asked him multiple times, are you Jewish, and then pulled out a 15-centimetre knife. They say another male in his company started chanting, stab him, stab him. They say a scuffle broke out in which the alleged victim, the 66-year-old man, was struck in the head with a metal canister, one that could be used to blow up helium balloons. He was assisted by transport staff. This 16-year-old was arrested in Padstow yesterday. His lawyer here in court this afternoon said he'll be fighting those charges. So your client's going to be defending all four charges? Sorry, I'm not going to make any comment. Now that 16-year-old was granted bail this afternoon under very strict conditions, however there is still one male outstanding over this incident. Sandra? Alright, Paris.
