You have a China saying, we're the future of the multilateral system. You have a U.S. saying, we're putting America first. There's a void to be filled here. And I think that while for Americans, the U.N. can seem like bureaucracy or traffic jams in New York, for the rest of the world, they're looking for leadership. Leaders are gathering as the war between Israel and Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip approaches two years. In Russia's more than three-year-old conflict in Ukraine continues. Last week, Guterres said that the time to address these issues is now. We absolutely need leaders to come here and to turn the tides, to come here and understand that international cooperation is vital in a moment like this, to come here and do the negotiations and the mediations that are necessary to at least create hope for peace in some of the situations we are facing.
