It may be Halloween, but we're already thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas. That's right, Christmas and how we're going to spend our money. In one survey, nearly 2 thirds of consumers say food and grocery costs will affect their holiday shopping. Here to help is money watch correspondent Kelly O'Grady. Kelly, good morning. Alright, so let's start with Halloween. Where should people go for those last minute needs? Alright, buy online and pick up in store is your friend here. There's not going to be a lot of options, but if you want the candy, the decor, the traditional costumes, this is a great way to skip the line. Cocoa prices are more expensive, so maybe stay away from the chocolate, but a lot of retailers. They're slashing the prices on candy because they want to move the inventory ahead of tomorrow. Alright, how is holiday shopping season shaping up and what type of strategies should shoppers have? So all of these retailers, they know consumers are price sensitive, so they are offering deals best buy. They're doing the holiday door boo busters instead of door busters starting this Friday or today. Rather, you're going to see flash deals every Friday. Tomorrow target is starting hundreds of weekly deals. You mentioned the grocery prices being expensive for the Thanksgiving meal. Walmart has a 10 for 37 at 10 people for $37. I know it's pretty good, right? Aldi has 10 for $40, so that works out to 4 per person. Generally, though, make sure you are setting price alerts for those must have gifts. Then you know when you're getting a good deal when you get alerted. And if you can set aside $50 every week, if you do that until Christmas, you got $450. Alright, happy Halloween you too.
