The police were visiting the property in Victoria's High Country for a search warrant. Ten officers attended the property this morning before two of them were fatally shot. A 59 year old and a 35 year old. Another was injured and he is now at Melbourne's Alfred Hospital. Tonight Victoria's Police Commissioner Mike Bush has spoken to media giving some details of the moments leading up to the fatal shooting. They were met by the offender and they were murdered in cold blood. He was heavily armed and he was able to escape into the bush. I do understand that he was pursued but he was able to get away. And this evening Jacinta Allen, Victoria's Premier, also weighed in on this tragedy. Today is such a tragic day for Victoria Police, for the community of Port Punker and for the state of Victoria. And we will unite, we will unite and put our arms around the men and women of Victoria Police. And a text message has been sent to everyone in this region saying there is an active shooter who is, an active armed man, sorry, who is in the area and to stay indoors until further notice. Police are determined to find him.
