The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are being held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with the red carpet prepared for the arrival of television's top stars. This year's ceremony introduces new hosts and highlights the growing influence of streaming networks, which lead in nominations.

"Severance" from Apple TV has received the most nominations with 27, followed by HBO Max's "The Penguin" with 24. The event will also feature a tribute to "Golden Girls" for its 40th anniversary and reunions from other classic television shows. Harrison Ford is among the notable nominees, receiving his first Emmy nomination.

The red carpet is all rolled out in Hollywood and the stars are arriving for tonight's 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. TV's Biggest Night has new first-time hosts with streaming networks leading the way in nominations and there are some special reunions in store with the stars of serial TV classics representing and presenting awards. CBS's Dena Demetrius is covering it all from Los Angeles, Dena. We're just a few hours away from Curtains Up here at the 2025 Emmy Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, Eureka. And as you can see around me, the red carpet is laid out and just waiting for some of television's biggest stars to start streaming in. Tonight's show will be hosted by stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze and feature the best of the 2024-2025 television season. Apple TV's Severance is up for the most awards tonight with 27 nominations, followed by HBO Max's The Penguin with 24 nominations. Not that I'm complaining. And CBS fans might see a familiar sight on stage tonight. Producers promised a Golden Girls tribute for the show's 40th anniversary, as well as reunions from some other television classics. Our network's red carpet coverage starts at 7 p.m. Eastern, Eureka. And I'm personally looking forward to speaking with Harrison Ford who has his first Emmy nomination tonight and seeing which show wins Best Drama. All so much to look forward to.
