We reject and condemn the Israeli Authority's aggression in the region, most recently the brutal assault on the brotherly state of Qatar. This attack requires an Arab, Islamic and international response to confront such aggression and to take international measures to stop the occupying power and deter its criminal practices aimed at destabilizing the security and stability of the region. The language underlines a new regional reality. Qatar's Prime Minister called the strike state terror saying it killed any hope for a ceasefire deal. This is state terror, that's what they call it. Do you feel betrayed? We are betrayed. By the US? No, I cannot say it's by the US. The US has expressed in many occasions their support to us. The US, the president, right after the attack, he spoke with his Highness the Emir and he was very clear that this is unacceptable. Now Arab capitals are weighing whether symbolism alone can answer a strike that many see as reshaping the region's security dynamics. This is the right time for the whole region to stand against this because this is unprecedented and it can lead to some very drastic instability in the region and that's the last thing we want to have in this region and the region must stand up to it. The anger spread far beyond the Arab world. In Pakistan, protesters accused Israel of sabotaging peace talks. This is terrorism. Israel attacked those who under the leadership of Hamas were preparing to push forward with peace talks. European leaders also condemned the strike, France calling it unacceptable, the UK warning of escalation and Germany urging ceasefire talks to continue. But Tuesday's strike goes far beyond condemnation. It poses a real challenge not only for Qatar but for the wider region.
