Qatar has confirmed its bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games, building on its recent experience with large-scale international sporting events like the FIFA World Cup. The bid comes amid ongoing discussions about the country's record on human rights and labour standards, particularly regarding migrant workers involved in the construction of event infrastructure.

Qatari officials have stated that reforms have been made, including the dismantling of the sponsorship system known as 'kafala'. Authorities claim that those found guilty of abuse or exploitation are being held accountable, as the International Olympic Committee reviews the suitability of all competing bids.

Surely you will concede that it is absolutely critical that perpetrators of abuse and exploitation be held to account. What's being done to ensure that that's the case? As far as I am aware, following closely what the state has done, people who have abused the law are punished.
