The pomp and pageantry this time will be unparalleled as the UK seeks to woo the man behind so much upheaval in the Western world. It's the biggest state visit I've been a part of in sheer numbers. The magnitude of it is not lost on anyone on the parade. Inside the castle and around town, security has been beefed up. Thousands of protesters are expected, and while the president is unlikely to hear them from within Windsor Castle's walls, they've been making plenty of noise in the lead up to the visit. Out, out! Stop Trump! He's in Putin's pocket, he's making the war in Palestine worse, he's supporting Netanyahu, Christo-fascism in America, he's surrounded by ignorant sycophants who are just all about their money as well, and the Epstein scandal, everything at the moment is a distraction. That last point captured in this banner briefly unfurled outside Windsor and this rather suggestive image projected onto the old walls of the castle. But not everyone is enraged about the trip. Around Windsor itself, souvenir shops are in the mood, filled with Trump merchandise. Some visitors are optimistic about potential gains for the UK, others just curious about the colour of the event. It's gonna be really lovely tomorrow to see, you know, the banquet and everything that's gone into the occasion. I'll definitely be here trying to see him, see a first president in my lifetime, it'll be quite cool. For an at-ease president, it's all about the pomp. Enjoy yourselves, okay?
