Donald Trump is preparing to take office after defeating Kamala Harris in the U.S. Presidential election.

Pro-Harris Political Action Committees (PACs) have witnessed robust support from the cryptocurrency sector, receiving significant donations as part of the current election cycle. Recent data reveals that the crypto industry directed its contributions mainly towards Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign and various tightly contested house races. Notably, employees from crypto venture firms, Excel and Two Sigma, contributed over half a million dollars to Harris's campaign. Additionally, Chris Larson, the co-founder of Ripple, emerged as one of the largest individual donors from the crypto sector, with over 11.7 million dollars donated to two PACs supporting Harris.

One of the major PACs, A Fair Shake, has been actively engaging in close house races, disbursing close to 29 million dollars in September. This significant amount has primarily been allocated to races in New York, Nevada, and California, all of which have been labeled as toss-ups by the Cook Political Report. More than 72 percent of these contributions have been directed towards Democratic candidates.

Overall, the crypto industry's political donations for the 2024 election cycle have amassed approximately 190 million dollars, with over 130 million dollars already spent on congressional races so far. In contrast, crypto donations to former President Donald Trump have slowed, with the Trump 47 committee receiving 7.5 million dollars, while the Make America Great Again PAC has not noted fresh crypto contributions in September.

So fresh election data shows that with two weeks to go until the general election, the crypto industry mostly donated to Vice President Kamala Harris and to a mix of tight house races in September. Employees from crypto venture firms, Excel and Two Sigma, gave more than 500K to the Harris campaign and Ripple co-founder Chris Larson has now donated more than 11.7 million dollars to two PACs supporting the VP's campaign, making Larson one of the crypto industry's largest individual donors this cycle. A fair shake, which is one of the top spending PACs this year, is targeting close house races. The committee gave out nearly 29 million dollars in September. A lot of that cash went to house races in New York, Nevada and California, many of which are considered toss ups by the Cook Political Report. And more than 72 percent of those contributions went to Democratic candidates. For the 2024 cycle, political donations from or supporting the crypto industry reached around 190 million dollars. And so far, crypto groups have spent over 130 million dollars of that cash in congressional races for this year's election, including the primaries. Meanwhile, spending by the crypto industry to Donald Trump has slowed down. New filings show the Trump 47 committee received 7.5 million dollars in crypto donations, but the Make America Great Again PAC shows no fresh crypto contributions for September.
