A massive London march organised by far-right activist Tommy Robinson descended into violence on Saturday after a small group of his supporters clashed with police who were separating them from a counter-protest.

The event, described as a defense of British culture, featured chants such as 'We Want Our Country Back' and 'Stop the Boats.' A smaller counter-protest by anti-racism groups was held nearby, with participants displaying 'Refugees Welcome' signs. 

Police stated that while most of the day was peaceful, some of Robinson's supporters assaulted officers, prompting police to use force to separate the two groups. The demonstrations occurred amid ongoing national debate over migrant crossings and followed a period of heightened anti-migrant protests in the UK.
