Utility companies, including United Illuminating and Eversource, have deployed hundreds of crews statewide to address the outages, which began overnight and have persisted as the storm continues.

Many towns have experienced significant outages, with some areas losing power to both homes and traffic lights. Crews have been working continuously to restore service, but officials warn that the storm is ongoing and additional outages are possible. Residents are encouraged to report any power loss to their utility provider to assist in restoration efforts.

12 Greg Thompson is tracking power outages. He joins us from Wilton right now. Greg, what's the latest there? Yeah, I mean, pretty much the same as it's been all morning. You drive around the area, you're gonna see a lot of this roads closed, crews back there doing work and houses without power. The electric companies say they're doing everything they can to try and get that power back online. But they also say with a storm like this, it's really a marathon, not a sprint. This is a constant, evolving storm where the winds persist throughout the day. Wind that's been taking trees and branches down into power lines and across streets like this one in Stratford or over in Milford, where 1200 people and the traffic lights all lost power just before six a.m. Sending crews from United Illuminating and Eversource off from one job to another. The real impact started happening overnight as the winds picked up. Our crews were very busy overnight. Luckily, Eversource says it was ready for things like what we saw in Stamford early this morning, where another 100 plus people lost power, telling us they were already in position with an extra focus near the shoreline. We have all hands on deck, hundreds of crews spread out, positioned around the state, ready to continue responding to this storm. And there really wasn't much of a break all morning from more downed lines in Fairfield impacting over 130 people to this scene in Wilton that totally blocked the road, leaving 140 more without power. Pretty much at this point, name a town and at some point it had a big outage. We've been able to respond quickly and safely to outages as they've been happening, which will help us because this is expected to be a longer duration storm where the winds are expected to last pretty much throughout the day. So as as long as we can keep up with it, that's that's helpful on our end. And also, like Radek mentioned, we're not out of the woods just yet. So if or maybe at this point when you do lose power, Eversource has always report to them. Even if you think one of your neighbors or someone else already did, it still helps them to know where it is and exactly how many people are being impacted for now, though, that is latest here in Wilton Greg Thompson News 12 Connecticut.
