Israel and Hamas have started a carefully coordinated exchange, with Hamas releasing the names of hostages they plan to free. The list matches Israel's expectations, except for two individuals—Bipin Joshi and Tamir Nimrodi—whose status remains unclear. 

Israel is set to release about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, a group that includes both convicted individuals and detainees who have not been tried. Of these, around 250 were convicted of serious crimes, while the majority are detainees held without trial, some detained during the current conflict and others beforehand.

very carefully choreographed it so Hamas released the armed wing of Hamas, I should add, released the names of the hostages who are alive, who they plan to release today. Just a few days ago it is basically the list that Israel assumed, of those hostages Israel assumed were alive. It does not include two names of two of the hostages Bipin Joshi and Tamir Nimrodi, who at least the Israeli authorities had refused to say whether they knew if they were alive or dead. There were many questions about their fate. Bipin Joshi, a police citizen who was studying agriculture in the south of Israel and Tamir Nimrodi, an IDF soldier. So their names are not included on the list. That's something everyone was watching out for. At least received any list of the dead hostages. Now the Palestinian prisoners, this is a list of about 2,000 people who was, this list was being fought about until minutes ago with a lot of tussles back and forth. So what we know and that has not changed is that 250 or so of these detainees and prisoners that the Israel prison service is releasing were actually convicted, tried and convicted of crimes, in many cases very gruesome crimes. But the others, a thousand seven hundred and fifty or so are detainees, are Palestinians who were taken, detained by Israeli forces, some of them during the course of this war, some even before, never put on trial, simply held in Israeli jails and they are being released in an easier procedure for obvious reasons. They're not convicted criminals.
