Newly released body camera footage from the Covington Police Department shows additional angles of their response to a late July protest on the Roebling Bridge.

Covington Police have released new body camera footage from a protest on the Roebling Bridge, which resulted in the arrest of 15 people. The footage, reviewed from several angles, shows officers attempting to clear protesters from the road and depicts the arrest of Brandon Hill, who was struck and detained after being shot with a pepper gun.

The video also shows another woman being arrested by multiple officers, with one officer appearing to pull her hair as she is brought to the ground. Officer Staten, involved in Hill's arrest, remains on paid administrative duty while an investigation into his actions continues.

Roebling Bridge protest body camera footage released

Covington PD releasing more body camera footage from the protest on the Roebling Bridge in late July. The incident resulted in the arrest of 15 people. WCPO has reviewed hours of the new body camera footage from multiple angles showing the chaotic confrontation. Officers are seen approaching protesters in an attempt to clear them from the road. In a new angle we see Brandon Hill, one of the 15 arrested. You can see an officer deploy a pepper gun and shoot Hill multiple times telling him to get on the ground. It appears Hill in the red hat attempts to get away to a concrete sidewalk on the bridge. When we spoke to Hill in July he told us he didn't know what a pepper ball gun looked like and wanted to get away from it. Covington officer Staten repeatedly strikes Hill in the head knocking him to the ground. Hill then asks later that evening after being detained Hill is transported in a stretcher. Footage also shows a woman who hasn't been identified being arrested by multiple officers just a few feet from Hill's arrest. It appears one officer pulls her hair as she's going down to the ground. As far as Staten, he remains on paid administrative duty and this investigation into his actions is still ongoing. In Cincinnati, Jay Chakor, WCPO 9 News.
