The Socceroos faced Canada in Montreal, where Jacob Italiano made his debut at right back and Alessandro Ciccati captained the team. Australia managed to hold off Canada in the first half, with goalkeeper Paul Izzo delivering a solid performance to keep the scores level at halftime. 

In the second half, Nestor Irunkunda provided a spark and scored his third international goal, giving Australia the lead. Despite rising tensions late in the match, the Socceroos maintained their advantage, securing a seventh consecutive win under coach Tony Popovich. The team is set to face the USA in their next match.

Yeah, I don't think there's any contact at all, that's a great call. As the FIFA president watched on, Australia simply hung on in the first half. He's done brilliantly, deflected. Paul Lizzo looking solid once more as Australia somehow went in level at the break. Nestor Irunkunda provided a second half spark. Tony Popovich changed things up as Australia continued to wrestle back control. Not long after, their boy Wanda would put them ahead. A third international goal for Irunkunda, a lead preserved by the brilliant Izzo. Canada's nice guy reputation went out the window late as tempers frayed. Irunkunda calmed down by his coach, who delivered a seventh straight win as Socorroo's boss. It's not a surprise, you know, the boss always demands hard work and dedication and you can see in the results that what he's doing is working. It's good to get goals like this as well, some of these scrappy goals, it shows your hunger to score goals and I'm very proud of the kid.
