A setback for the Trump administration in Illinois. A federal judge just temporarily blocked National Guard troops from deploying anywhere in the state. It comes as an appeals court heard arguments over whether to uphold a similar restraining order in the city of Portland. CBS News correspondent Ian Lee joins me now from Broadview, Illinois. Ian, so describe conditions on the ground this morning. Good morning, Vlad. You know, just about 15 minutes ago at the top of the last hour, that's when the curfew lifted on protests. That didn't stop people from coming here earlier. We have about a little over 100 protesters on the east side of this ICE detention facility. They are protesting loud. There has been some scuffles with the Illinois State Police. I witnessed some arrests. Tensions are a bit high right now. But I also saw more Illinois State Police being driven into this area. It looks like they're preparing for this protest to get larger. This is a larger number of protesters than we've seen in the past few days. And so it's still very early. We are expecting to see that protest potentially grow, Vlad. Yeah. And how are officials reacting to the ruling, Ian? Yeah, you know, it depends on who you ask, right? Yesterday, we were in the courthouse hearing from the judge. It seemed like the judge, as we know, was very skeptical of the Trump administration's position when it comes to deploying the National Guard. This is the reactions we got from the president and local officials. I don't know what the big problem is. If I were a Democrat governor, I'd be saying, whatever you can do to get crime down, I'll take anybody. We're at a moment in which we have a federal government that has not only trampled on our Constitution, but it has declared war on American cities. And we will push back.
