In a large-scale immigration enforcement raid at a huge Hyundai facility in Georgia on Thursday, 475 immigrants suspected of living and working in the U.S. illegally were detained, federal authorities announced.

Officials stated that the majority of those detained were South Korean nationals who had either entered the country illegally, overstayed their visas, or were otherwise unauthorized to work.

The plant, a $7.6 billion joint venture between Hyundai and LG, is the largest economic project in Georgia's history. Authorities allege the facility had been under investigation for illegal practices for several months. Both Hyundai and LG have stated they are cooperating with law enforcement.

All of this comes just a week after the South Korean president met with President Trump at the White House to talk about trade and tariffs. The Korean president pledged $150 billion by Korean companies to the U. S. And that includes 26 billion by Hyundai.

The White House said the U.S. is sending 10 F-35 fighter jets to Puerto Rico. It comes as the Defense Department confirmed that two armed Venezuelan F-16 fighter jets flew over a U.S. Navy ship in the region on Thursday.
