Israel's central intelligence agency, Shin Bet, said that it thwarted an assassination plot by Hamas against the country's right-wing minister of national security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, Reuters reports.

Israel's domestic intelligence service, Shin Bet, has announced the prevention of a Hamas plot to assassinate the country's national security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir. According to Shin Bet, members of a Hamas cell from the West Bank city of Hebron were arrested, and explosive drones intended for the attack were seized.

Authorities allege the cell operated with links to Hamas headquarters in Turkey, and investigations are ongoing. Minister Ben-Gvir stated that this was not the first attempt on his life, asserting that previous plots had also failed. There have been no official responses from Hamas or Turkish authorities regarding the allegations.

Yeah, Vlad, these are fresh lines coming to us right now. Well, Israel's Shin Bet Domestic Intelligence Service also says that members of Hamas cell have also, have since been arrested. Shin Bet says that it would have involved the use of explosive drones and that the members of that Hamas cell came from the Israeli-occupied West Bank area of Hebron. They had been arrested, drones had been seized. Shin Bet also says that it believes that this cell had operated in Turkey, in the country of Turkey, Hamas headquarters there. They say that an investigation is now underway. No comments yet from Hamas or from anyone in Turkey. But Ben-Gavir, Itamar Ben-Gavir, released a statement saying that he is not afraid, he will not be lulled. Hamas, he says, has already tried five times to assassinate me, and he says, quote, each time they have failed. But we know for years that his far-right positions have stirred passions, Vlad, for and obviously against him over the years. Hmm.
