The suspected perpetrator had started a fire at the residential building before laying booby traps throughout and was considered highly dangerous. He was later found dead. A letter containing vague threats on Oktoberfest was also recovered. Investigators opted to close the festival and sweep the area for explosives, leaving visitors frustrated. We can now look forward to another safe Oktoberfest. We can conclude that, based on what we have been able to ascertain, the Oktoberfest was not under threat and was not affected. But because of what was stated in the letter that he posted in a neighbor's mailbox, it was right for us to take it seriously at first. Better late than never, the festival was back underway as partygoers began making up for lost time.
