The Northwest region, already experiencing significant rainfall and flooding, is set to receive more precipitation as another storm approaches. Washington has seen the heaviest rain over the past week, and the incoming system will bring the heaviest rain to Oregon, while both states remain at risk for flooding.

Strong winds are expected across the Northwest and northern Rockies, with gusts likely to cause power outages. Additionally, heavy snow is forecast for the Washington Cascades, where snowfall will be measured in feet, leading to potential road closures due to blowing and drifting snow.

More rain and mountain snow coming for the Northwest

No rest for the weary and we're talking about the northwest where we're already waterlogged. Take a look at the rainfall over the last seven days, heaviest rain has been in Washington and that's why we continue to have widespread flooding. One storm pulling away today but another storm on the way as we get into Thursday. Now this storm is going to target Oregon with the heaviest rain. There will still be some rain though in Washington so unfortunately while we still have to worry about Washington flooding, now we're going to add Oregon into the equation as we head into Thursday and Thursday night. Strong winds will be a problem on Wednesday as well, not only in the northwest but the northern Rockies where we're going to easily see wind gusts past 50-60 mph and that is going to cause power outages. The one last part of the puzzle in the northwest, we didn't have to worry about it last week but this week we will, heavy snow in the mountains especially in the Washington Cascades where we're going to be measuring the snow in feet over the next couple of days and strong winds will cause considerable blowing and drifting of snow and there will be closures.
