For Justin Morgan, the bus is all he knows. I'll be lost. When I first came to Kansas City, I didn't know how to get anywhere until somebody showed me the bus schedule. He says he relies on the bus to get to medical appointments, work, and to access federal resources. Recently released from jail, he needs the bus to stay on track. I'm trying to do the right thing. I'm trying to be a law-abiding citizen. But if you start modifying the bus routes, I mean, I'm going to get in trouble with my probation officer. I'm going to be going back to jail. It's for people like Justin that the campaign was started. And I know everybody knows that City doesn't just do things for people just to do things for people most times. Usually there's something going on behind the scenes. So we want to make sure that the public pressure is there, and they understand that this is not something that they can just skate by on. If not finalized by Friday, KCATA will need to use capital reserve funds or potentially suspend services. We're just here for the bottom line, and the bottom line is the people deserve buses, and the City needs to make a deal with KCATA to get it done. For Justin, the stakes are high.
