U.S. Homeland Security agents conducted a major raid at a Hyundai-LG battery manufacturing plant in Georgia, arresting nearly 500 workers. Officials stated that most of those detained were South Korean nationals who had either entered the country illegally, overstayed visas, or were not authorized to work.

The facility, a $7.6 billion joint venture and Georgia's largest economic project, had reportedly been under investigation for months for alleged illegal employment practices. Hyundai and LG have stated they are cooperating with law enforcement. The raid follows recent trade discussions between U.S. and South Korean leaders.
