Hurricane Humberto has strengthened into a category 4 storm, reaching wind speeds of 145 miles per hour. The hurricane is not expected to make landfall or cause significant weather impacts to the United States or Bermuda. While Bermuda may experience some gusty winds as the storm passes to its west, the core of the hurricane will remain offshore. Previously, Humberto reached category 5 intensity, but it is now expected to continue moving away from major land masses. Any potential impact on Europe would occur later and with the storm in a weakened state.

Let's have now a look at the latest advisory on Umberto 145 mile per hour category for thankfully nowhere near the coastline of the United States in a way that would impact our weather. It is not doing that, and it is not going to likely bring a whole lot of significant weather impacts to Bermuda, although it will be close enough to bring at least something some gusty winds, certainly on the periphery of the core as it slides by to the west of Bermuda. There it is on the satellite pictures, and if you were paying attention to the tropics with Umberto over the weekend a couple days ago, my goodness, this was a very high intensity category 5, the kind of hurricane that is about as strong as you can get in this part of the world, and thankfully it is not going to be really impacting significantly weather-wise any land masses anytime soon, certainly maybe Europe down the line, but it will be a different character by then.
