Cars were washed away in the central business district, and public transport users faced difficulties, with some passengers trapped on light rail services. Emergency crews responded to various incidents, including rescuing an elderly woman and returning stranded fish to receding waterways. The storms also brought hail and strong winds, causing damage such as downed trees and power outages. However, weather forecasts indicate that conditions are set to improve, with the wet weather moving offshore and no significant storms expected in the near future.

A fish out of water, not one but three were returned to a receding Walleye Creek. While some roads were passable, others not so much. Right across the state thunderstorms packed a punch, even bringing hail that peppered backyards. Laughter too carried to the mountains that saw a 15 centimeter dusting and there's more to come. We are super stoked to see more snow falling here at Perisher with 30 centimeters forecasted to fall over the next few days. But as the showers eased and the winds moved in, even the strongest came crashing down. And then I just had a big bang and I told my mum. The tree that's taken out the power lines along with the power pole and also a water main as well. We've seen wind gusts of about a hundred kilometers an hour through eastern parts so the wind will start to ease off and by tomorrow morning it will be noticeably calmer. For those who've been calling on Mother Nature to bring back the sunshine, the good news is this wet weather's moving out to sea making way for a warmer weekend. The short-term outlook is not for any more significant stormy outbreaks in around about the next seven days or so. Sure to be welcome news for many as much as we love a water park.
