A strong atmospheric river originating from Hawaii, referred to as the Pineapple Express, has brought significant rainfall, flooding, and high winds to the Pacific Northwest. The storms have resulted in at least one fatality in Snohomish County, Washington, and have led to evacuations following levee breaches, particularly along the Green River in Tukwila.

Blizzard warnings are in effect for mountain passes, with up to two feet of snow expected in some areas, and widespread power outages have been reported due to high winds and saturated ground. Additional rounds of rain and snow are forecast for the coming days, with flood and blizzard warnings remaining in place across Washington, Oregon, and northern California.

another atmospheric river. This one kind of coming in from Hawaii. So we call this the Pineapple Express once again soaking the region. Now the storms have now also turned deadly. The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office says one person died early this morning after driving into about six ft of floodwater. They say he drove past the road closed signs and left the roadway where his car then became submerged. Meanwhile, evacuations are still underway in Washington State after two levy breaches. This video you're seeing is one of those breaches along the Green Ripper in Tukwila. And we're going to continue to track this as we head into really the rest of the week. The rainfall will continue and it's the rivers that we're watching. But right now we want to take you to Snoqualmie. This is one of the areas where we do have that blizzard warning issue, though it's ahead of the actual snowfall. Yeah, we're still mild enough for rain here. This is all the way down around 3000 ft. So this is pretty much the lowest significant mountain pass in the Cascades. But that's I 90. It's a very major thoroughfare and we're gonna be dealing with heavy snow there with probably 1 to 2 ft of snow by Friday morning. Let's go up to the north of the Skagway Alaska. This is where the second storm system it's gonna be moving south. There's an upper level low tied to this. Uh, and in southeast Alaska, we've been dealing with some heavy snow and rain recently, but and then also rain in the southern part of Alaska. But this upper level low is going to be pushing south and it's going to interact with the atmospheric river, like a rivet of moisture coming in from the southwest. So the two are gonna bring a pretty prolific round of rain and mountain snow to the pacific northwest. In the meantime, we do have the rain still in Seattle. Waves of this moving through the Puget Sound, pulling north. Look out in Bellingham. You're gonna have a wet night and in northern California, we're seeing some widespread rain up into areas around Mount Shasta. Flood warnings are in effect up and down the whole western slab of Washington, basically from east of Olympia all the way up almost to Bellingham. But the wind is also a big story. So we have a multifaceted storm high wind warnings across almost all of Montana, northern and central Idaho, even out of the south of the Pocatello wind advisories and Boise. Tonight's strongest wind will be impacting and buffeting the northwest coast with gusts of 50 to 60 miles per hour, especially from Seattle to Bellingham for now. And then we get a little bit of a break, but that's after some power outages. We had been fluctuating between maybe seven and 15,000 addresses without power in western Washington. So again, the wind's been a problem, partly because of the really saturated ground. Thankfully, the areas that are seeing the worst of the wind right along the immediate coastline are fairly less populated. Most of the population is closer to I five. But through tonight, renewed flooding risk up in the northern parts of Washington and from northwest California into southwest Oregon. Not everybody is going to necessarily see a whole lot tonight, but it will fill in late tonight for a time into Portland for maybe three or four hours. Then we get a break, and then the next surge comes in, and this one becomes more robust. We watching for this Wednesday night to Thursday, widespread rain, falling snow levels, heavy snow into the passes, and this also zips through the northern Rockies with widespread heavy snow, feet of snow northeast of Boise. Strong winds will accompany this gust of 60 to 70 MPH on Wednesday in Great Falls and Billings. Lots of impacts. So the first round will bring again an inch or two of rain here through tonight in Seattle a break. But there's more coming. And in areas like concrete, this is in northwest Washington. The crest later this week will probably be tomorrow about five or six feet shy of where we saw things crest earlier in the week. Thursday, things ramped back up. The rain picks up the snow falls. Snow levels will be dropping hard, and we still have some wind tied to this. There are blizzard warnings in the Olympic and Cascade Mountains of Washington, and we're looking at multiple feet of of snow and probably between two and four inches of rain in Portland later this week as well. So and a lot of moving parts here in the northwest
