Hundreds more families in Melbourne have been advised to have their children tested for STIs after Victoria Police identified additional childcare centres linked to alleged paedophile Joshua Brown.

Victoria Police have expanded their investigation into alleged child abuse by Joshua Brown, identifying four more childcare centres in Melbourne where he worked. As a result, approximately 830 families are being contacted and advised to have their children undergo precautionary testing for sexually transmitted infections. 

The Department of Health has stated that the risk of infection is low and any detected infections can be treated with antibiotics. Brown faces 70 charges related to offences at a Point Cook centre, with police now monitoring 23 centres of concern. Authorities are working to ensure all affected families are informed.

Those families are being urged to have their children undergo testing for sexually transmitted infections. The Victorian Department of Health released a statement today saying that the risk of infection is low and that testing is precautionary and any infection can be treated by antibiotics. It comes after childcare centres in Mickleham, Tarneit, Braybrook and Greensboro were added to the publicly available list of places where Mr. Brown worked. Joshua Brown is accused of 70 sex offences against children at a Point Cook Childcare Centre in 2022 and 2023. Police say they have 23 child care centres of concern. Ursula, it's expected all families impacted by this latest update will have been contacted by today.
