Golfers have swapped well-kept greens for ice at the inaugural North Pole Clock Golf Championship. "It is probably the most innovative and cool golf I’ve ever done", says David Dudek, a player from Hong Kong.

Nineteen participants gathered at the North Pole to compete in the first-ever North Pole Clock Golf Championship, an event that adapted the traditional Victorian-era game for icy conditions. Players putted from numbered points arranged in a circle, similar to a clock face, with adjustments made to suit the unique environment.

Competitors included both seasoned golfers and novices from a range of countries, such as China, Iceland, India, and Lithuania. Ultimately, James Elliott Square from Britain emerged as the champion of this innovative and challenging tournament.

Golf has gone back in time and way up North, with clock golf making its icy debut at the very top of the world. Nineteen players went head to head to have a shot at becoming the North Pole's first clock golf champion. While it's typically played in gardens for amateur golfers, the championship adjusted the rules to suit the cold and icy setting. It is probably the most innovative and cool golf I've ever done. And I have golfed all over the world, from Ireland to Australia, New Zealand, South America, Africa. This is the coolest golf I've ever done in my life. Some were avid golfers, others had little or no experience at all. Others represented countries like China, Iceland, India, Lithuania and more. But it was British man James Elliott Square who was eventually named champion.
